Getting started on a healthy lifestyle
When it comes to the health and wellbeing of our lives, how many of us really take the time to evaluate our health? Our mood and energy levels? Why is it that there are so few people today who truly take care of themselves by looking within as well as without and addressing their current state of being? Just like you take care of a car to keep it running properly, we must also take care of our bodies if we are to maintain our health energy.
Today with so many health fads and trends, it gets confusing trying to find a healthy lifestyle that really works and we can stay with in the long term. In such a fast paced and information based world, we can tend to make things more complicated than they need to be. So how we can learn to better manage our healthy lifestyle? It first starts by us shifting our perspectives from looking outwards to really looking within and seeing what our own personal needs are.
Another point to look at is that our health goes well beyond just the foods we eat. Having the proper balance in our lives can impact us Spiritually, mentally and physically, so taking the time needed to address your health in different aspects is important. You may need help at first finding a good structure and flow between work, exercise, meditation, proper rest, and nutrition, but the benefits for taking charge of our health is well worth the challenges we face along the way.
It first comes by having the right mindset behind what we are doing to begin with and having clear intentions on what you are trying to achieve that will help you understand the proper steps needed to accomplishing those goals. For example if you want to lose weight, you may want to begin exercising at the gym 3-4 times a week, walking or biking more often. If you want to compound the benefits of the gym then you can cut out junk foods and soda, drink more water and eat non processed food. Having clear goals that you set up for yourself will help you know what you need to do in order to make progress, and will make it much simpler to actually realize those goals into action.
Make progress each day by sticking to these goals and track your progress to where you are improving and make adjustments as you go from there. Remember to be patient with yourself as good health and success is not an overnight thing. We need to be able to stick it out for the long run and not get discouraged when we make mistakes on our path towards better health and self realization. We also have to be willing to forgive ourselves so we can get back on track to our success and health, while moving forward and growing through each lesson.
Another thing to mention is although we are all an integral part of the whole reality that we experience here, we are also unique in our individuality and may have different needs than others. This is why there is no one size fits all approach to health and nutrition. It takes time to learn about ourselves and what we need to achieve our health goals. As you transition and take steps to make small improvements they will add up.
When it comes to diet and nutrition, some of the best advice I could
give is to avoid the overly processed foods commonly accepted in modern society and opt for more whole fresh fruits, and vegetables. Drink more water and natural teas over soda and coffee and make sure you are getting outside away from technology with daily exercise to stay in shape. It can also be very helpful to take up some softer martial arts like tai chi or learning some simple yoga routines to help you get in tune energetically while also giving a rejuvenating workout and stretch where it is needed.
Always remember that your health physically is going to reflect in your spiritual, mental and emotional health as well, so take care of yourself in all areas of your life to really see the most benefits in becoming a better version of yourself! The more we balance the whole from within, the more wholesome we can start to become. Just know that Health is the true wealth to come by and it all starts from within ourselves, make the changes necessary and take action towards your health and happiness today!
